Alden Studebaker began his spiritual journey in Unity at age fifteen as a member of the Youth of Unity (Y.O.U) at Unity Church of Hawaii in Honolulu.  He served his local chapter as president, and attended two Y.O.U. international conferences and Unity Village, Missouri. Upon entering college at the University of Hawaii, he was inwardly called to serve the ministry.

In 1980, Alden received a B.A. degree with a major in religion, minor in history, magna cum laude, from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  As a layperson, he served as a platform assistant, Y.O.U. sponsor, and board member.  In 1982, he entered the Unity Ministerial School.  While in school, he served as the student minister of the outreach ministry in Leavenworth, Kansas, and as a chaplain at the nearby military prison.

After his graduation and ordination in 1984, Alden served Unity ministries from California to the Midwest, specifically Vacaville, California; El Paso, Texas; La Crescenta, California; Bellevue, Washington; Cincinnati, Ohio, and Eau Claire, Wisconsin.  He began serving Unity of Bonita Spring on July 15, 2021.

During his ministerial career he served Unity Worldwide Ministries as: Member, Board of Trustees; Chairperson, CLMRS Appeals Panel; Chairperson, Admissions Team; Member, Licensing & Ordination Committee; Member, Standards Committee; President, Great Lakes Unity Region; Regional Representative, Vice-President, and Secretary, Southwest Unity Region.

Donna and Alden Studebaker were married in 1980.  Donna became a Licensed Unity Teacher in 1985.  They have three adult children, Jennifer, Nathan, Dani, and a precocious cat named Buster.  They live in San Carlos Park.
